- The Old Trafford club will intensify the search for a new manager to take over the team from this summer
- After the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick took over the management of the ‘red devils’
Coach wanted. That is the poster that has been hung at Old Trafford to find a new coach for next season. Apparently, the leadership of the ‘red devils’ will intensify the search to find the relief of Ralf Rangnick, who assumed the reins of the team until the end of the season after the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and will rise to the position of consultant.
According to The Athletic, there are already several profiles on the table, but there are four big favorites to sit on the bench at Old Trafford starting this summer. This list of finalists would include Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, Luis Enrique and Julen Lopetegui.
United are looking for a proven coach who is capable of leading the new project in order to return glory to the Mancunian team.
The English club considers that those selected have enough experience to govern a squad with a lot of potential.
Pochettino, currently at PSG, has been playing for a long time. The Argentine knows the Premier after his stages at Southampton and Tottenham, whom he led to the Champions League final.
Ten Hag is one of the keys to Ajax’s recent success. He has two doubles in his record (league and cup) with the ‘ajacied’ team, as well as being runner-up in the Europa League.
Luis Enrique, now in charge of the Spanish team, knows what it means to win the Champions League (he got a treble with FC Barcelona), while Lopetegui has performed well with Sevilla after having passed through powerful benches like Real Madrid and the Port.
United know that to seduce any of them it will be imperative to finish in the top four of the Premier League and play in the Champions League next season.
Right now, Rangnick’s team is fourth with 38 points, although West Ham is one point away and Arsenal and Tottenham are two.
