FIGC opened an investigation into the alleged racist abuse of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Franck Kessié during Milan vs. Lazio.
Bakayoko made his debut in his second spell with Milan coming off the bench against Lazio on Sunday.
According to multiple reports, a bunch of Biancocelesti fans chanted a racist song while the player was about to enter the pitch.
The song was ‘clearly audible’ and was repeated by Lazio fans several times.
Bakayoko revealed on Instagram that his teammate Kessié was also targeted by Lazio fans.
Earlier this week, Milan announced they had sent a formal complaint to the Federal Prosecutor, who has now opened an investigation.
“The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation against SS Lazio following the complaint filed by AC Milan for discriminatory songs by Biancocelesti fans against the player Bakayoko during Milan-Lazio on 12 September,” an official statement read.
“The Prosecutor is acquiring the videos and documents in possession of the Police of the city of Milan.”
