- A genius of the Moroccan midfielder broke the match in favor of Chelsea as soon as the second half started
- The ‘blues’ resume the path of victory after four days without winning
Chelsea did remember winning. Thomas Tuchel’s team had gone four games without victory, but in the derby against Tottenham they were able to put an end to a streak that has taken them away from the top of the Premier League.
The ‘blues’ had pending issues and with a genius from Hakim Ziyech and a header from Thiago Silva he approved all of them to add three soothing points. Meanwhile, Tottenham, after the miracle wrought in Leicester, is still unable to step foot in the European competition zone.
First equal time
The staging of both teams was traced, as Tuchel and Conte changed their system and opted to use a 4-4-2. The intentions, however, were different, with a more daring Chelsea against a compact Tottenham looking to do damage on the counterattack.
The first arrivals were local, both headed by Hudson-Odoi and Thiago Silva. The ‘blues’ seemed more ambitious, although after the first bars the ‘spurs’ were leveling the game.
Kane’s disallowed goal
Everything could have been broken before half-time if the referee hadn’t disallowed Harry Kane’s goal. The braid considered that the Englishman lacked Thiago Silva before finishing off, a highly debatable action and in which the VAR did not want to intervene.
The beginning of the second half had the same script as the beginning of the match, although this time Chelsea was going to take advantage of their arrivals.
The 1-0 came from the genius of Ziyech, who from the edge of the box launched a beautiful pass that slipped through the entire squad (47′). The goal gave wings to the ‘blues’, who accelerated fully to make a difference. Lloris stretched to deny Ziyech’s double and Mount’s shot from the balcony of the area was high.
The one who was not going to forgive was Thiago Silva, who exhibited his aerial power in a set piece play to make it 2-0. The blow was deadly for Tottenham despite their attempt to react with a shot from Bergwijn saved by Kepa.
Little more could Conte’s team do, as Chelsea did not hesitate at any time and sealed the victory with authority.
