The FA Cup! It’s a competition of magic and wonder, where there are enticing match-ups and… oh, Brentford vs Leicester City is the tie of the round.
Yes. The draw for the fourth round was decidedly underwhelming. Oh well, there are bound to be some intriguing fixtures in the next round.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to it all:
Before the draw began, there was a moment to remember those who are no longer in the game…
So, the numbered balls were whipped out, and this is what we got…
Nope, wrong one. Here it is…
Some thought this unfortunate event meant the end was nigh…
Once again a boring draw. Not a single good tie in there. FA Cup is finito

It was pretty clear what the general consensus was…

Not sure the FA cup draw could have been any more dull for us… Hull away

Was anyone happy?
Worst FA Cup draw ever. Not a single exciting match there.

That’s a scintillatingly boring round of FA Cup fixtures.
— Andy Marsters-Haining (@TheMarsters) January 6, 2020
And many made it clear they no longer view the FA Cup as a worthy competition…
What a boring fa cup draw glad we got knocked out 😂

Leicester. Boring draw. FA Cup 3rd in line behind League and Carabao Cup.

Surely we can find someone who thought the draw was good…
Hull City away next FA Cup match. not bad
— Roma (@RomaCFC3) January 6, 2020
Watford/ tranmere away in the fa cup if we get through, not a bad draw
— Connor Dixon🔰 (@mufc_connor2020) January 6, 2020
Ok, ‘not bad‘ is better. It’s a start. But, seriously, anything good?
What an awful fa cup draw.

Thanks, Richie.
At least Steve Bruce looks content…
Mike Ashley seems pretty chuffed, too…
Let’s hope its a round to remember!
