Kylian Mbappe has confessed that France teammate Lucas Hernandez has told him to join Bayern Munich, though the forward insisted that he is ‘very happy’ at Paris Saint-Germain for now.
Mbappe has enjoyed another incredible season at PSG, netting 42 goals and 11 assists in 47 games.
However, with the Parisians once again faltering in the Champions League rumours has been rife that he could leave the club in the near future. There would only be a finite number of destinations for Mbappe thanks to his colossal wages and the transfer fee he would demand.
One of the clubs who could realistically target him is Bayern and the player stirred the pot during a recent interview with BILD (via GFFN).
“Lucas told me that I should come to Bayern Munich. In football, we never know what can happen. But I am currently very happy as I am,” he said.
Mbappe went to praise Die Roten for their recent transfer business, saying: “Bayern is one of the best 5 teams in the world. You can only congratulate them on how they maintain their level of quality each year. They know what they are doing. Now, Boateng and Alaba have left, but Upamecano, an excellent defender, has arrived. They have got a clear plan which makes them a big club.”
Hernandez is not the only France player who has been willing his teammate to join their club. Karim Benzema – recently restored to the national side following a lengthy spell in the wilderness – has also been in Mbappe’s ear selling him the Real Madrid dream. Liverpool and Manchester City have both been mentioned as possible destinations.
Although many clubs are interested, PSG are eager to keep hold of their best player. Recently president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisted that the Parisians would never let him depart willingly.
