Kylian Mbappe has added fuel to the fire surrounding his future at Paris Saint-Germain by beginning a house hunt in Madrid.
The French forward is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract with the Ligue 1 giants and while the club remain confident publicly, rumours continue to swirl about a potential move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Los Blancos have long been linked with the World Cup winner and Zinedine Zidane is actually Mbappe’s idol, meaning a move to Madrid has always seemed inevitable for him.
While it’s expected that any move would cost Madrid well over £100m, that reportedly hasn’t put Mbappe off planning for the future just in case.
According to Goal, Mbappe has tasked a member of his entourage to find suitable residence in the Spanish capital. Already fluent in the language, it’s reported that the 22-year-old is keen on setting up shop in Spain for the future whether it’s with Real Madrid or just for his real estate portfolio.
Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino has recently labelled Mbappe a ‘dream’ to work with, while sporting director Leonardo has repeatedly stated his confidence that the forward will commit his long-term future to the club.
The club are also on the verge of agreeing a new deal with Neymar, but Mbappe’s future is more likely to be in all the headlines going forward.
As well as Real Madrid it’s expected that top clubs like Manchester City and Barcelona would also be interested in signing Mbappe – should he decide to leave this summer in the final year of his contract.
For now though, he is said to be fully focused on helping PSG to succeed this season. He is the club’s top scorer with 34 goals this season and has fired them to the semi-finals of the Champions League with five goals against Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the knockout stages, while also leading the scoring charts in Ligue 1 as PSG trail Lille by one point at the top of the table.
