Griezmann's permanent transfer from Barcelona to Atletico Madrid has been confirmed.
Atletico Madrid have announced the permanent signing of Antoine Griezmann from Barcelona, with the forward committing to the club until June 2026.
Griezmann returned to Atleti on a two-year loan agreement at the start of last season following two disappointing seasons at Camp Nou.
Diego Simeone’s team reportedly agreed to pay Barcelona €40 million if Griezmann played a particular number of minutes this season, which has limited his playing time.
The France international has participated in all eight of his team’s LaLiga games, but he has only played 30 minutes or less in six of them.
On Monday, Atletico Madrid announced on their official website that an agreement had been reached for Griezmann to officially return to the club.
Mateu Alemany, Barcelona’s sporting director, stated on Sunday that Atleti will pay slightly around €20 million for the 31-year-old.
Griezmann is in his sixth season with Atletico Madrid after two periods, having made 403 appearances and scoring 144 goals in all competitions.
