Milan have completed the permanent signing of Alessandro Florenzi from Roma, following the right-impressive back’s loan stay last season.
Florenzi appeared in 30 games across all competitions in 2021-22, including 24 league games in Milan’s first Scudetto-winning season in 11 years.
After playing a role in that historic victory, Milan confirmed on Friday that they have exercised their option to sign Florenzi to a three-year contract.
The Italy international had been on Roma’s books since 2011, but he fell out of favor and was loaned out to Valencia and Paris Saint-Germain before joining Milan.
Milan also confirmed on Friday that back-up goalkeeper Antonio Mirante, who did not play last season, has had his contract extended until the end of the current season.
It follows the extension of the stays of club executives Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, who oversee transfer activities.
