FIFA 21 FUT Birthday Team 1 revealed by EA Sports

EA Sports have announced an exciting new set of upgraded cards as part of FIFA 21’s FUT Birthday celebrations, with Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara and Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy leading the Premier League charge.

Every year, EA celebrate the ‘birthday’ of their Ultimate Team mode by releasing a brand new crop of boosted and upgraded stars from around the world. This year, two teams of players will be released over the course of the celebrations, with each player receiving a 5* boost to either his weak foot ability or his skill rating.

The first team has already been announced and is available in packs, as EA have selected some exciting upgrades to kick off the festivities.

The highest rated and standout card within the team is Liverpool’s Thiago, who has received an upgrade to a 92 rating, boasting 91 passing and 94 dribbling. The Spaniard has also been handed a 5* weak foot and 5* skill moves. Yikes.

Leicester fox in the box Vardy has been awarded a 91 rated card, with a blistering 92 pace and 90 shooting.

Central attacking midfielders Lucas Moura and Leroy Sane will also be worth a pretty penny on the FUT market, while the slightly lower-rated but equally as terrifying Inaki Williams and Hwang Hee-chan also appear in the team.

Outside of your pack luck however, there is the possibility to roll back the years and unlock a 90-rated Klaas-Jan Huntelaar through playing objectives! The Dutch hitman has been generously handed 87 pace and 92 shooting, while his weak foot has also received a boost to five stars.

Gamers should keep an eye out for Player Squad Building Challenges during the week, where they could complete the puzzles to earn a boosted FUT Birthday star with either 5* weak foot or 5* skills.
