France's players before Sunday's World Cup final
The French Football Federation has acknowledged that they would file complaints after some France players received “racist and nasty insults” on social media.
France lost 4-2 on penalties to Argentina in the World Cup final on Sunday, following a 3-3 deadlock at Doha’s Lusail Stadium.
Following the defeat, some France players are claimed to have received racial abuse on social media.
Bayern Munich criticized the abuse of Kingsley Coman, who missed a penalty in the shootout, on Monday.
The FFF has now pledged to file charges against those responsible for Coman and his teammates’ abuse.
“Following the World Cup final, numerous players from the French team were the subject of unacceptable racist and cruel insults on social networks,” according to a statement.
“The FFF strongly condemns them and intends to file a complaint against those involved.”
