- The signing of the Uruguayan striker has been closed for 75 million fixed euros plus another 25 in variables
It’s official. Benfica has announced the signing of Darwin Núñez (22 years old) by Liverpool, which makes him the most expensive signing in the history of the English club.
The agreement is already complete. Benfica has reported in an official statement that the ‘red’ team has signed the Uruguayan striker for a fixed 75 million euros plus another 25 in variables, which would raise the figure to 100 ‘kilos’ with which had been rumored in the last few hours.
In this way, that of Darwin Núñez becomes the second most expensive signing of what we have on the market after that of Tchouaméni for Madrid, which would be, according to various sources, between 100 and 120 million euros.
Although Liverpool have not yet made it official, Núñez would sign until June 2028.
“In the early hours of this Monday (0:44 a.m.), Benfica informed the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) that it had reached an agreement with Liverpool FC for the sale of all the rights of the player Darwin Nuñez, for an amount of 75 million euros.
The agreement provides for the payment of a variable remuneration, so that the total amount of the sale could reach the amount of 100 million euros. You are also informed that the aforementioned agreement is conditional on the signing of the player’s sports contract with Liverpool FC”, informs the press release published by Benfica.
