Crystal Palace 2-1 Wolves: Zaha scores the Eagles' winning goal.
Crystal Palace came from behind to defeat Wolves 2-1 at Selhurst Park.
As the hosts struggled to create clear-cut chances in the first half, Adama Traore broke the deadlock on 31 minutes.
But, two minutes after the restart, Eberechi Eze shifted the momentum by nodding in Michael Olise’s cross.
Wilfried Zaha gave Palace the victory, firing past Jose Sa to secure all three points and Palace’s second consecutive home win.
On four minutes, Cheick Doucoure’s 25-yard effort from the right post came close to putting the hosts ahead.
Diego Costa drove into the area but was denied by Palace keeper Vicente Guaita, who dove to prevent the visitors from taking an early lead.
Olise, who set up the opening goal in Palace’s previous victory at Selhurst Park, curled in a corner that Marc Guehi rose to meet but nodded wide.
Palace had more of the ball in the opening exchanges but struggled to finish, turning it over in the final third and matching their opponents on just one shot on target by the 25-minute mark.
Six minutes later, the visitors broke the deadlock when Hugo Bueno, making his full first-team debut, delivered a fine cross to an unmarked Traore, who nodded into the bottom right corner.
After Joel Ward and Daniel Podence collided in the air, the Wolves winger was treated by physios but deemed fit to play, earning the Palace captain a booking in the process.
Before the break, Zaha had a chance to level for the frustrated hosts, but he missed his effort. The Eagles were given a small reprieve when Ruben Neves’ free-kick in stoppage time bounced off the right post.
Within two minutes of retaking the pitch, the hosts equalized, with Olise’s cross to the back post finding Eze, who headed home his second goal of the season.
When Olise found Odsonne Edouard in the center of the area, the Frenchman’s bicycle kick sailed just wide of the right post, and Palace came within inches of taking the lead.
Edouard had the ball at his feet again less than three minutes later, this time picking out Zaha in the center of the area. The Eagles forward capitalized on the situation and put the hosts ahead with a composed finish into the bottom right corner.
Guaita made a spectacular leaping save to deny Goncalo Guedes a late equalizer, and Nathan Collins was saved by the offside flag following a glaring miss from Guedes’ cross.
