Antonio Conte said Inter must ‘complete the path’ and praised Lautaro Martinez. ‘He certainly has a great future ahead of him’.
Inter recover the game against Sassuolo tomorrow, a game postponed due to coronavirus, and Conte said his men need ‘great attention’ against Roberto De Zerbi’s team.
“We are facing a team that has a very specific identity and characteristics,” Conte told InterTV. “For some time, they have been working with Roberto De Zerbi, an excellent coach.
“We will need great attention, respect everything and everyone, try to play our game and give our all tomorrow too.”
The Nerazzurri coach said the short recovery time affects the teams in Serie A but believes they are ‘used’ to the tight fixture list.
“It affects both us and them,” he said. “We are used to playing with these rhythms, beyond recovery, enthusiasm and desire.
“We are doing important things, but the path must be completed.”
The Nerazzurri coach highlighted that his team’s physical condition will count a lot during the run-in, but stressed they need to ‘exploit’ the many chances they create during games.
“It always counts, the player must feel good on the pitch and run in the right way,” Conte continued.
“When you create, you must exploit. The right situation must be capitalised with the goal, otherwise at most you will draw the game.
“Everyone thinks about the team, the individuals doesn’t make you win. The team enhances the individual qualities and the lads have understood this.”
Conte said Lautaro Martinez has developed a lot during his time with the Beneamata.
“He has grown in everything, with and without the ball,” Conte continued. “He must continue on this path: considering his young age.
“He certainly has a great future ahead of him.”
