Defending champions Chelsea will face 13-time European champions Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Elsewhere, Manchester City were tied against Manchester United’s last 16 winners Atletico Madrid in another thrilling game.
In the other two round of 16 matches, Liverpool face Portuguese club Benfica and Bayern Munich face Europa League champions Villarreal.
Chelsea and Real met in last season’s semi-finals, with Thomas Tuchel’s team winning 2-0 at Stamford Bridge after a 1-1 draw in Spain.
But Carlo Ancelotti’s men are in worrying form this season, leading La Liga by 10 points and knocking out Paris Saint-Germain last week thanks to Karim Benzema’s superb hat-trick.
City’s clash with Atleti will see two contrasting styles clash with Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions taking on Diego Simeone’s team.
And Jurgen Klopp will be delighted that his Reds have avoided the big Europeans and instead been given the task of beating Benfica, who are in the semi-finals for the first time since the 2015-16 campaign.
It will be a similar sense of relief for Bayern, although they are wary of a Villarreal side that stunned Juventus 3-0 in Turin on Wednesday night.
Chelsea will have to keep Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema quiet to qualify for the semi-finals
The semi-final draw also ended at the same time, with winners Chelsea and Real facing City or Atleti.
That means a potential quarter-final clash between Liverpool and Bayern should they beat their respective opponents in the quarter-finals.
When will the games be?
The quarter-final first legs will be played on April 5th and 6th and the return matches on April 12th and 13th.
The semifinals first leg will take place on April 26th and 27th and the return matches on May 3rd and 4th.
The Stade de France in Paris will host the final on Saturday 28 May, with the venue moved from St Petersburg due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
