adidas have unveiled a classic-look Celtic home kit for the upcoming 2020/21 season, which they identify as the most important in the club’s history.
German sports giants adidas take over as kit suppliers to the Scottish champions this summer, having signed a record-breaking five-year deal to replace New Balance back in March.
The deal, estimated to be worth around £25m is thought to be the biggest in the history of Scottish sport.
The new kit is, of course, dominated by the iconic green and white hoops, but features adidas’ (equally iconic) three stripes on the shoulders, which the outfitters dub a ‘match made in paradise’.
The shirt also features gold detail, including on the crew-neck and cuffs, while it is made from ‘moisture-absorbing fabric’ – so, sweat away!
A gold star above the club badge recognises Celtic’s achievement as the first British club to win the European Cup back in 1967.
The looks is completed with white shorts with green detail and hooped white socks.
adidas’ first collab with Celtic could be a historic one with the Bhoys going for ten Premiership titles in a row next season – an unprecedented feat in Scotland.
In a statement from adidas, they identify the upcoming campaign as ‘the most important
season in the club’s history,’ while adding that the kit is ‘not for second best’.
In another less than subtle dig at eternal rivals and nearest challengers Rangers, adidas call Celtic ‘the biggest and best team in Scotland.’
The new home kit is available to pre-order now, ahead of its release on Thursday 6 August.
